Not happy with this metal detector

Keeps up with the high dollar machines!

I bought my ace400 used about 8 months ago used, it’s treated me well and I’ll get straight to the point that my only gripe is that it’s not waterproof. Not that I water hunt, it would just be a nice feature. But if you don’t mind that I highly recommend it.

Depth is great with this machine with the stock DD, I’ve dug quarters at a foot or more deep, a seated liberty dime at 7-8 inches, Buffalo nickels, Indian head pennies, all kinds of coins at varying depths, and my deepest find was a sterling silver .925 belt buckle at 14 inches. Don’t listen to what people that never used or owned one of these machines say about Garrett machines lacking depth. This thing has proved that wrong in my mind, it nails coins all day long.

If you hunt junky areas you may want to consider a smaller coil, such as a nel snake. The stock 8.5x11 may be too big and you could potentially miss targets around iron. The battery life is great, feels great, works great. This thing has already payed for itself and some with all the clad I’ve dug, and a 14k wedding band. I have no plans on upgrading because what’s the point? I do just as good with this machine as my friends higher end Whites and Minelbab.

The 400i(I'm European) are good detectors it's not my first... I have most M.D. Brand like xp tesoro white's cscope .... But this M.D. impressed me it's depth and simple use. I digged silver coin to 13-14 inch that's excellent!!! (sensitivity max in jewelry mode) The only worry is that he does not like the very polluted areas. The bell tone still a little too long but the reactivity are good.

Great machine for the bucks.

I've only had the 400 for a little over a week. First time out at the local park I was digging wheat pennies at 8+ inches. I have hunted this park many times in the same area with my other machines, and walked right over them. I feel that this detector is well worth the money, I have no complaints.

Garrett ace 400

I purchased an Ace 400 last March (2016) and I love it. The detector is very easy to operate and maintain. Before I purchased it, I watched numerous videos about it on youtube and asked friends how they felt about Garrett metal detectors.
With 100 percent honesty, I can tell you that not one of them had anything bad to say about them. Since my purchase, I have found coins, civil war relics and just about anything you can think of. You can't beat this detector for the price.
I also purchased the 5X8 coil and found that it works great around trashy areas and have not noticed any loss of depth. It's also a lot easy to swing if you're hunting for a long period of time. Finally, I recommend this detector to anyone interested in getting a good detector at a fair price.

Best of the aces

I have used all the other ace line, this is the best one. 11 inches on a silver dollar. Love it, great in trash or the open. Would love to read other views, I know that your out there. Maybe they don't want the news out just how good they are.
